We live in a day where we get a lot of instant gratification, seems like everything is 'on demand' except when it comes to building our business or growing our followings.
Being an entrepreneur or content creator can test our patience because we want results right now. On top of that there are no shortage of marketers always promising the quick in easy path.
Its easy to compare yourself to people who 'appear' to be crushing it online, and that can make us feel like we aren't succeeding or that we are doing it all wrong.
I want to remind you that some of the biggest names in the digital entrepreneurship space; people like Gary V, Amy Porterfield, Tony Robbins, John Lee Dumas, Brendan Burchard, Rich Roll, Even Carmichael (and the list goes on) all were years in the making and not overnight successes.
We only see the tip of the iceberg and don't realize all the years that went into what we see now. Remember if you are feeling like 'this is taking so long' or...
Is it bad or good to give away a lot of stuff for free?
By that I mean, doing free trainings, free coaching, free resources?
Will you be discounting your worth when you give out free stuff?
Will you attract ‘freebie seekers’ that will never pay?
If I give too much away, won’t it be hard for me to charge people?
Won’t I be giving away all of my secrets?
In my experience: “the more I give away, the more that comes my way”.
If you know me I’m a nerd about abundance and any worries about giving aways stuff for free comes from a scarcity mindset, let’s blow up some of these limiting beliefs:
Freebie seekers – yes, there are those people who will resist paying for anything. But why should I not try to help them? The truth is, the people who are unwilling to pay for anything end up hurting themselves the most because they try to figure out everything on their own....
Welcome Mindset Hackers to a brand new week and another opportunity for you to go out and create the life that you love!
We live in a day and age where we have so many tools to create the life that you want, the live that you truly deserve.
It has never been easier, with so many tools available, for you to live the life of your dreams, to have a voice, to get paid to do what you love.
But the promise of instant success is so seductive, and marketers use this as an angle to get your money.
What happens is people get lured into the idea of instant success, quick results.
What actually happens is people hit the wall in the first 3 to 6 months of their great endeavor, reality hits and the realization that it is harder than they though.
Self doubt starts to creep in. "Am I made for this?" "What's wrong with me?" "Why are other people succeeding when I am not"?
The truth is, success takes time. It doesn't need to be hard, but it does take time.
The expectation of quick results can be your...
I had it pretty good in my 20’s until I blew it all up
Up until high school, I had always thought I would live an average life, I clearly remember walking to school one day with a somber thought of me ‘just getting by’ through life, hating my job because it was all I could get because I didn’t want to go to college and ‘do what they say’ to be successful.
The story is not new and one I talk about a lot here on Mindset Hackers: The dopamine treadmill.
Obsessing over the next commission, promotion or opportunity. Hopelessly focused on reaching the next level of success or hitting a moving target of satisfaction.
When you are on the treadmill, you are missing out on life. The sunrise, the air, the music, the food, the touch, the senses all become desensitized.
You focus on things in the future, you focus on things in the past, but you miss out on the present, which is the only place you should be.
Bobby Dysart, author of The 5 Buckets: The Framework For Living With Intention and host of the School of Intention Podcast describes his story of being successful, by the standard metrics, before Covid disrupted his new start up business and left him with half of his clients.
During a weekend retreat, he was able to connect with himself and others on a different level, and help give him the guidance that he needed to find the truest...
On this fresh new episode of Mindset Hackers I have discussed the idea of 'raising your frequency' to bring up the energy level of those you interact with.
Imagine being able to walk into your next interview, teach a class or a coach, do your next sales call or presentation, be on a stage or on a podcast and come in with a transferrable energy that lifts others up and inspires.
Epic sales people know how to influence and inspire by what I call the 'Transfer of Enthusiasm'.
Your energy level is completely transferable and you will be able to affect not only your own state, but the state of others, which can put them in a place where they are ready to take action.
You know those people that you meet who just make you feel good when you are around them, they bring up the level of energy in a room, they know how to impact others, they influence those around them.
You also know the people that are a buzzkill in a room and bring down the energy, and have the frequency of Zombie.
Raising...
On this episode of Mindset Hackers we talk about the only 2 things that you need to succeed in sales, business, entrepreneurship or any other professional pursuit.
Before we start, I'd like to share my 4 mindset mantras that I say to myself every single day:
Affirmation #1 - If they can do it, so can I.
Affirmation #2 - I can figure this out.
Affirmation #3 - I can go harder.
Affirmation #4 - I will do whatever it takes.
Those four mindset mantras are painted above my shower so that every morning, above my cold shower, I see those as I embrace the cold. I thump my chest and I say those out loud and I prime my day to crush it with the momentum of a freight train. Then I start my day.
Now back to the 2 things you need for success:
Knowledge & Action.
Simple right? Not so much. It takes a strong person to seek out knowledge because as soon as you do, then the excuses start showing up in your mindset.
We allow ourselves to believe that these are real limitations, but they are not,...
Imagine a door in front of you.
You don't exactly know what is behind the door, you think there could be opportunity, but also there could be danger.
There is a 5% chance of danger and +60% chance of opportunity.
But you fear what will happen if you walk through that door, instead of the opportunity that might unfold.
So you stay where you are and don't walk through.

So, back to the fears, 95% of those worries will never happen in the first place.
And the 5% of the time that the do? What's the worse that can happen?
The real danger lies in staying in the same place, where you aren't safe anyway, because its not what is behind the door...

Success to a lot of people means:
High paying job.
The career that parents wanted them to have.
A certain amount of money or net worth.
Nice car and house.
Title or status.
Beach body.
We have all been condition from when we were young, perhaps not always intentionally, but in some cases extremely targeted (advertising, media, social media and culture) on who to 'be'.
The other problem is all those things listed above are not permanent and can be taken away quickly.
We either feel like we are lacking if we aren’t there,
Or we get there and fear losing it,
Or we keep chasing after we get there.
Don’t get me wrong, those are fine things to aspire to if that is truly what you want at your core.
But start by asking what it is that you truly want aside from the influence of everything we've been told to want in life.
For me, it’s freedom, and having lots of money doesn’t...
