Making The Decision To Leave Your Job To Build An Online Business | Dr. Moira Hanna

It's startling to think about how many people are disengaged or hate their jobs yet do nothing about it. I recently read an article in Forbes that said something like 60% of employees wouldn't wish their job or their worst enemy. 

Starting an online business is no easy journey even for the smartest people. It takes courage, commitment, consistency, a plan of action and constantly learning new skills. Some people get sucked into the marketing hyperbole of 'living the dream' and the false promises of making 6 and 7 figure incomes quickly. 

Even the very best entrepreneurs out there like Gary Vaynerchuk, Amy Porterfield, Even Carmichael will tell you that there is no such thing as an overnight success.

But there are some of us who ask ourselves, what will happen if we let our lives go by and get to that retirement age and realize that we never went after our dreams of doing what we truly love in our life? We make a decision, we declare, we commit, we choose to go after it and there is no other option other than for us to succeed.

Meet Dr. Moira Hanna, she is a adjunct professor of psychology and she got tired of teaching the late night classes and wanted to spend more time with her family. One cold autumn night, like many of us that get ideas in the shower, she came up with the idea that she wanted to leave her full time job and start an online business helping other entrepreneurs. 

But like most entrepreneurs, Dr. Moira set off on a path to freedom and had her highs and lows and shares how she got caught up in the trap that so many of us find ourselves in: painting ourselves into a corner and being busier than we were before when we were in our jobs!

She also shares another common blind spot that catches entrepreneurs off guard which is doing 'all the things' that the gurus teach you to do. This is the Shiny Object Syndrome, the constant learning and going from course to course; building all the quizzes and email lists and courses and membership sites.
