On Mindset Hackers I will give you the 5 step formula for crushing your biggest goals and how to stay on top of them through the entire year.

It's the 3rd week of January and its the time where most people start letting off the gas on their goals. They say that 92% of people fail at their new years resolution, yet we hear all about S.M.A.R.T goals in the corporate world.

SMART Goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time Bound.

What is attainable? Everything! What is realistic? Codeword for 'I don't want you to fail so be realistic'.

Ultra-athlete, best selling author and former Navy Seal David Goggins knows all about the breaking through what we think is 'realistic'.

In his mind, he calls this the 'governor', like the device that is on a sports car that limits how fast it can go. A Porsche could go 190 without a governor, but at 135 miles per hour its cuts off the gas and prevents it from going that fast.

According to David Goggins, when we start to want to tap out, to give up, to quit, we've only hit 40% of our capacity and that should tell us that we  have so much further we can go.

So if we go into our goals describing them as needing to be 'attainable' and 'realistic', right there we are setting our own governor.

Let's dive into the 5 steps that you can use to level up this year by adding:

Clarity around your goals.
A strong and compelling why (anchoring pain and pleasure).
Visibility around your goals.
Accountability around your goals.
A detailed plan of action.
